Jalal al-Din Qa'ini's Nasa'ih-i Shahrukhi was just published by the eminent Iranian colleague Ghulamriza Amirkhani. In my opinion, NS is one of the most, if not the most, significant late medieval political treatise. Its discussion of politics is outside of the earlier advice+

20 Years Since Andijan, Remembering Past Abuses in Uzbekistan Addressing the lack of accountability for past human rights abuses, including the 2005 Andijan massacre, has not been high on the current government’s agenda.

Uzbekistan never did commission an independent investigation - no one has ever been held accountable for the deaths of unarmed protesters in #Andijan in 2005.

Addressing the lack of accountability for past abuses isn't high on this administration's agenda either.

Actually, yes, Georgians now feel like they are finally overcoming the Russian colonial-imposed behaviour & stereotype of Georgians only being good for dancing and eating. Please note that this narrative has been indirectly yet persistently reinforced by the Georgian Dream too.

So a reminder:

It’s not ‘liberals’ saying Hegseth abuses women. It’s his mom.

It’s not ‘liberals’ comparing Trump to Hitler. It’s his vice-president.

It’s not ‘liberals’ calling Musk a liar and a racist. It’s his own child.

For the record.

I've been stuck in afwul #Oxford traffic for nearly an hour coming back from @bodleianlibraries.bsky.social, so before my battery runs out have a miniature! This one is from MS. Canonici 122, a copy of the #Persian #Sufi epic Intikhāb-i ḥadīqah by Sanāyī (supposedly edited by Farīd al-dīn ‘Aṭṭār).

Several of these books are by academics, which is good to see, but by my count only 1 of the 50 was published by a university press. Just an observation. Make of it what you will.
