Biochar Innovations - Roundhouse Foundation
Andrew Myers' animation takes shape during his residency as he explores the concepts of coexistence and human/wildlife conflict.
Flash back to 2022 and the Pine Meadow Ranch team in Sisters, OR, experimenting with a variation of a Big Box Biochar kiln to reduce woody debris and convert it to critical soil carbon for the local landscape.

Ring of Fire biochar kiln in full bloom. Processing forest waste and thermally converting it to biochar in a flame cap process called pryolysis. This is not the same as incineration or combustion, because while some of the material does burn away, we capture the embodied carbon (biochar) to return to local soils. Biochar helps heal local ecosystems, particularly where the fire cycle has been disrupted. Processing this way reduces green house gas emissions and is immensely safer than open burning. Great way to clear hazardous fuels from an area and create benefit. Visit ringoffire.earth to learn more!
Oh... just chillin in the forest and making biochar! Ring of Fire biochar kilns help you process excess biomass safely while creating valuable soil carbon to return to the local soils. Learn more on our website. #biochar #ringoffire #biocharkiln #biocharonsite
