Elk usually forage in cropland, which should feel risky.
But big surprise: their hormone levels don’t indicate they feel fear there. 3/5
We put that idea to the test by tracking wild elk and measuring two hormones that mean fear (glucocorticoids, or GCs) and refuelling (T3). 2/5
