If you ever get a chance to see this on film, go! You can catch the extremely dry and sly joke of Hanks saying “next slide” before a reel change!

27.02.2026 01:36 — 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0But the most striking tell that Netflix might be in a financial bind is that nearly every company that’s bought Warners lately has offloaded their debt onto the studio before selling again, and it’d make sense if Netflix was looking to cast off debt but now the new price tag makes that impractical

27.02.2026 01:22 — 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0I’m just reading tea leaves here but I also think this might show Netflix is not as financially strong of a company as they pretend to be, and they were hoping Warners would juice up subscription numbers and options, the way Disney bundles Hulu and ESPN

An old ad for Grape-Nuts. It has a box of Grape-Nuts with beefy bare legs and gladiator sandals on for some reason holding on to a man in a suit with too much torso. I was 18 when Munich released. My dad was friends with an Israeli filmmaker, and being a Spielberg nut, I excitedly asked him what he thought of it.
He paused. Then, “I thought like it was a little too sympathetic to the Palestinians.” Even in those pro-Bush days of mine, that comment felt off.
“It gets at something core that remains.”
Goodness what a conversation. Rewatched Munich after Oct 7 and it cut like a sword, sharper than ever. Also, Kushner seems like a great hang.
