My two months at Stanford are done! What an incredibly fun experience. I will miss my office buddies and the sunshine but will no doubt be back π«ΆβοΈπ Now to finish out this PhD!!

Very fortunate to spend the next two months here writing up my thesis!
The US government has been turned over to a group of extraordinarily ignorant people, and they are working to destroy science in this country. Cutting over half the NSF budget would save < 0.1% of the federal budget, but do incalculable harm. Simply heartbreaking.

Me and Andy the Autosampler have had a tumultuous relationship these last 3 years. Iβm convinced he knows itβs coming to an end between us because he keeps breaking down on me. The final day of isotope sampling has been 3 days long so far, and counting π Pete the Picarro is looking shifty now tooβ¦

Methane analysis on an Amazonian floodplain tree
Reaching new heights in our field site today. Weβve been busy mapping all our trees, ready to return in the flooded season. 4 days down, 9 to go!

What a difference 6 months makes in the floodplains of the Amazon. Tefe lake now and back in May this year at the same spot from our hotel. Another extreme drought, but the waters are rising!
