First and then go from there when you start running into your Spanish neighbors. Or interact with others even in online spaces in their language.

It’s not easy but the process is going to demand you be genuine about it.

If I can speak horribly inaccurate Spanish then it’s worth more than nothing and the more I can practice and advocate for its use the more good it brings. Same with any language but if you have people in your community- just try to meet them halfway. Maybe you only learn a couple greeting phrases

It is hard but I really feel like it’s an effort anyone can put in to make the world a better place IMO. As someone who’s awful at Spanish but been studying it for years- the effort is what matters and opening that door with people who communicate differently.

the major thing to remember about language learning is that, beyond passive memorization or reading, like any communicative technology, you need to keep using the language to really grasp its multi-use capabilities

i'm not watching the super bowl atm so i have no context but regarding what i'm seeing on my tl i just want to say that i fully and utterly agree that more anglophones should learn spanish to connect to others around this hemisphere and we should encourage multilingualism for everyone
