Our second Spotlight on a Researcher for October is Izzat Zulkiflee, who is conducting his PhD studies under the supervision of Dr. Isma Liza Mohd Isa and co-supervised by Prof. Abhay Pandit. Join us today at 1:00pm in G001 in the HBB to hear about his research.

Our first Spotlight on a Researcher for October is Patrick C Hurley. Patrick is supervised by Dr. Una FitzGerald and co-supervised by Prof. Gerard O'Connor and Dr. Jill McMahon. Join us today at 1:00pm in G001 Seminar Room in the HBB to hear more about his research.

🧠 Spotlight on Summer Researchers 🧠

BSc students, Bláithín Mullen and Ciara Ní Dhochartaigh (both from Pharmacology), and Maria Usatii (Anatomy), conducted summer research in the labs of Dr Declan McKernan, Dr Andrea Kwakowsky, and Prof Dara Cannon. See the attached for details of their work!

Health science students Alice McKeon and Lenora Murphy conducted research this summer under the supervision of Dr Sinéad Hynes. See the attached profiles for a summary of their experiences as summer research students and the work they completed.

Dr Daniela Rodrigues Amorim is a postdoctoral researcher in the lab of Dr Michelle Roche (with co-supervision from Prof. David Finn and Prof. Abhay Pandit).  Daniela's research is funded by a MedTrain+ Marie Skłodowska-Curie COFUND Fellowship Programme.

🧠 September Researcher Spotlight 🧠
Our first researcher spotlight for September is Conal Sheridan. Conal is supervised by Dr Jamie Concannon.  His PhD is funded by a College of Science and Engineering Postgraduate Scholarship.

🧠June Researcher Spotlight 1 🧠
Maria Redmond is a PhD student in Pharmacology. She is supervised by Prof David Finn and co-supervised by Profs Georgina Gethin and Abhay Pandit. Her PhD project is funded by a Research Ireland Government of Ireland Postgraduate Scholarship.

Dr Eulalie Lafarge is a postdoctoral researcher in Dr Declan McKernan’s lab who is funded by the European Union’s Horizon Europe Excellent Science programme under the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions Grant Agreement and CÚRAM, Research Ireland Centre for Medical Devices.

Presenting on the day are Dr Eulalie Lafarge and Mia Casburn.

The first Researcher Spotlight for May is Mia Casburn. Mia is supervised by Prof. Dara Cannon and Prof. Derek Morris and is funded by Research Ireland using data from the UK Biobank dataset.

Rosmara is a postdoctoral researcher in the lab of Prof. David Finn and is funded by ERC Arth-Alleve.

Our first 'Spotlight on a Researcher' for April is Aoife Warren🧠 Aoife models the interactions between brain function, early life adversity and cognition in schizophrenia.
Aoife is supervised by Prof. Gary Donohoe (School of Psychology) and co-supervised by Dr David Mothersill (NCI, Dublin).

The second speaker for the March session of our GNC Seminar series is Saahithh Patlola who is supervised by Dr. Declan McKernan and Prof. Gary Donohoe. His PhD is funded by a University of Galway Hardiman Scholarship.

Our second speaker at this week's GNC seminars is Dr Emma Corley who is a Postdoctoral Researcher in the lab of Prof. Dara Cannon and Prof. Colm McDonald. Emma is funded by an Enigma BD R01 grant.

Our first ‘Spotlight on a Researcher’ goes to Siobhan Crilly, who is studying brain organoids as models for stroke is as a Medtrain+ Marie Curie Postdoctoral Fellow working in the lab of Dr Mihai Lomora.
