Older adults that did not recover back to baseline persistence values drove the significant findings. Older adults that did recover to baseline persistence values were not significantly different than middle-aged adults. Evidence older adults can retain physical resilience.

We created a windowed DFA to examine the effect of standing perturbations on middle-aged and older adults ability to recover the persistence (long range correlations in movement) in their anteroposterior sway.
