GPU is a Radeon RX 7900 XT.

I could turn settings down until the game looks like dogshit and it'll cap out at ~70-80 FPS.

Borderlands 4 is a lot of fun, and I'm lucky, I guess, that it runs "okay" on my computer at 50-60 FPS with no framegen. I'll take it as a blessing since some people have it worse, but why is it this bad when I still have headroom on both CPU and GPU?

I fuckin hate how Monster Hunter Wilds looks like you're playing on a rapidly morphing printout from a dot-matrix printer unless you have TAA turned on. But then, when you turn TAA on, it's blurry as fuck like you need to get your prescription checked.

Eri's "Clerk" class in #Yakuza7 is peak RPG. A warrior trained in the ways of cubicle combat--crushing heads with a reams of copy paper, testicular assault with a staple gun, throwing scissors like shuriken... It's just so goddamn absurd and it kills me (it's perfection; I cannot get enough).

Nope, frame gen was off. I had FSR/DLSS turned completely off to run at native res, so the frame gen option was greyed out.

I have played the beta for a few hours today, though, and it doesn't have the frame pacing issues the benchmark had.

I got "Excellent" using ultra settings, native 1440p no FSR, with a Ryzen 5 5600x and Radeon RX 7900 XT. But despite every scene (except in town/camp) being supposedly >60 FPS it felt awful because the frame pacing was dogshit. Tons of microstutter, especially during the lightning segment.

So, I felt bad for seeing something that is actually cool and impressive attention to detail, where my knee-jerk reaction was to be negative...

I have become so jaded by poorly-optimized games lately that, while playing the intro of MGS5, my 1st impression of seeing Snake crawl prone was that his model was phasing between LODs as he lunged. It took a bit to realize they animated his normal map to make his muscles ripple under his skin.

Same experience here with the official dock. It blows chunks. Sometimes, if I forget to turn the monitor off before booting the Deck, the Deck will just kind of sit in limbo and never actually boot up. Instead, just sitting there with a lit-but-blank screen.

I look at the navigation bar on the left, and any creators with a blue dot by their name have new content. I can see very directly at a glance who has uploaded new stuff since the last time I looked.

This is the only way I use YouTube, and the only way I have used it for many years.

I know this kind of snarky reply doesn't actually help you in your situation for what you do. But it feels great to be off of Microsoft's Wild Ride again. No full-screen ads when I log in, no ads in my start menu, no notifications to sign up for Game Pass or purchase MW3 every other day anymore.
