usually if you ask experts why an empire fell they’ll say it’s nuanced and multifaceted, so i think it’s kind of cool that with America future historians will get to just say like “oh they took the idiot train to moronsville”

Considering our reputation as a grey and rainy place domestic solar power Scotland is v effective. Data from my roof so far this year: 1) generated more than I've used (all my heating and hot water is electric so I use a lot) 2) sold surplus back to the grid for over £400.

when low-to-middle income adults have caring responsibilities, they often take
up substantial amounts of time. As shown by the purple bars in Figure 4, three-fifths (60
per cent) of low-to-middle income carers – 1.0 million, or 6 per cent of all low-to-middle
income adults – provide care for at least 35 hours a week, the equivalent of a full-time job.
And 280,000 low-to-middle income adults provide round-the-clock care of 100 or more
hours each week

Tough work! I laboured on a farm as a summer job. Worse bit was stacking hay bales up into the decreasing roof space of the barn - dust, heat and hands getting torn to shreds by the baler string.... So much heavier than they look!
