I missed that Konan v. USPS came out yesterday. This is the case where the Post Office refused to deliver mail to a Black woman. Of course Clarence Thomas, 5-4, says it's okay.
Clarence Thomas is the worst thing to happen to Black people since Roger Taney

One thing I loved about this convo is about how it went kinda deep on allyship.
This Olympian who made waves for speaking out about Trump did so strategically: as an older white man (and alternate) he felt like he could take the heat for his team. And: he GOT heat: www.youtube.com/watch?v=tLlV...

Married women most likely to keep their own last names β and therefore not face the burdens created by the SAVE Act β are younger, higher educated, and registered Democrats. For example, while 90 percent of conservative Republican women took their husbandsβ last name, the comparable rate was 64 percent for liberal Democratic women. Moreover, passport holders are more likely to be higher educated and are more represented in Democratic states and purple states. For example, only 25 percent of those with a high school diploma or less report having a valid passport, compared to well over 60 percent of those with college and post graduate degrees.
What is striking here is that this will not just disproportionately affect women (who mostly support Democrats), but especially Republican women who are more likely to have taken their husbands names. So why are female GOP legislators and supporters going along with imposing burdens on themselves?

New from @pamherd.bsky.social at Can We Still Govern?:
The SAVE Act is a truly extreme voter suppression bill, but in ways that might surprise you. White Christian Nationalism is driving the bill more than a cynical focus on maximizing GOP vote share. π§΅

Our federal government killed a disabled genocide survivor and is covering up for a child rapist. And that is just todayβs news. It is just unconscionable to be treating this as normal or acceptable in any way.

Also, why sort of regimes involve collective punishment, including punishing the innocent. This is not about fraud, itβs about control.

An official letter from the Kansas Division of Vehicles dated February 23, 2026, with a redacted recipient address. The letter notifies the recipient that due to the enactment of Senate Bill 244, all Kansas driver's licenses and IDs must reflect the holder's sex at birth. It states that the recipient's current credential will become invalid immediately upon the law's publication on February 26, 2026, with no grace period. The recipient is directed to surrender their current ID to receive a new one matching their sex assigned at birth. The document concludes with instructions on how to appeal the notice if received in error, along with contact information for the department.
Kansas is sending letters to trans people telling them that their licenses will be revoked as of tomorrow and that they risk arrest for driving on a suspended license.
This is pure cruelty.
www.erininthemorning.com/p/kansas-sen...
Because of the National driver register, since their licenses are suspended, trans folks cannot move to another state and get a new license until they remove the suspension on their existing Kansas license.
They can't even escape this by moving to another state.

Case No.: 25-cv-2942-TJK KRISTI NOEM, et al., Defendants. PLAINTIFFS' MOTION FOR AN ORDER TO SHOW CAUSE After a temporary restraining order narrowly thwarted the government's secret, middle-of- the-night attempt to expel unaccompanied Guatemalan children from the United States over Labor Day weekend, this Court certified a provisional class of certain Guatemalan children who are or will be in the custody of the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and other Defendants and enjoined Defendants from "transferring, repatriating, removing, or otherwise facilitating the transport" of class members from the United States. Defendants declined to appeal that injunction and it remains in place while this matter proceeds to final judgment. But Plaintiffs have learned that Defendants are engaged in a practice that openly flouts the plain text of the Court's injunction and the statutory protections guaranteed by the Trafficking Victims Protection Reauthorization Act (TVPRA). Specifically, U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) agents are returning unaccompanied children from noncontiguous countries, including class members, to their home countries within 72 hours of entering government custody, typically before they can be transferred
NEW: Remember when the government rounded up dozens of unaccompanied children in the middle of the night and tried to summarily deport them?
A Trump-appointed judge entered an injunction barring their removal.
But lawyers for the children say the government is trying to circumvent that order.
Touching to see U2 and Ed Sheeran remember this terrible anniversary in Ukraine and the men and women who are doing what they have to do.
