I think the Capcom of today could present it a little better, the premise is a rough start but it's not totally unworkable. There's an angle there of Tricell / Wesker exploiting the region that could be something, especially if Wesker is more like CVX Wesker where he's just the ultimate mercenary.

It's my favorite question to come back to cause it's kind of a tough one to explain in detail other than "the game plays into various stereotypes of the general concept of the continent of Africa"

It's tough to fix if you want to keep the premise, though there's probably a million ways to do it.

It'd take a real expert to make these fellas work though, lol

The villagers and security force later you can hmm and haw about, but then these guys jump out of the swamp and turn the racism value from 0 to 1.

Also the scene with the blonde white lady was weird and random and kinda plays into this.

They wanted to do Villagers > Cultists > Military again like in RE4 but their pick for the Cultist faction, the Ndipaya Majini, was crazy

If you wanted to smooth it over you'd just have to do more humanization of the victims in the region and have more uninfected people around you can help out imo

"Is Resident Evil 5 racist" is going around again, my favorite.

The answer is "Yeah, but mostly out of ignorance."

The explanation for the tribal Majini being "the parasite made them don their festival outfits" is wild. From there it's very easy to become uncharitable towards other details.

learned today that h3vr models this somewhat cause if you put a silencer on a gun, that's more barrel, meaning more velocity so it's armor penetration stat goes up lol

which can cause brusing / knock outs, and it can kill if you hit em hard enough, even through armor
