D.C. students walk out of school and fill the city’s streets to protest ICE Organizers said more than 1,000 students gathered at the Lincoln Memorial. Among the signs they held, one read, “We skipped our lessons to teach you one.”

Also, when the chancellor told them they just wanted attention and their protest was pointless, my daughter pulled out her a computer and started digging up articles about all ICE has been doing and the people that have died! (See signs)

Some of the 104 signs made by students — some participating, some worried that their parents would get called so just dropping off signs in solidarity!

My 8th grader wasn’t allowed to join the walk out against ICE today and so decided to lead a sit down strike and march around the school. Then the chancellor said they needed to be punished — and forbidden to do extracurriculars. That meant no Much Ado performance! OVERTURNED.

She killed it!
