The Polio Vaccine Was a Miracle—and We Must Not Forget It As a polio survivor, I am a dinosaur today. My great hope is that our country’s living memory of the disease ends with my generation.

I’ve been around long enough to remember older children in my primary school who’d contracted polio. It was a scary time— & we placed such hope & trust in science (and the sugar cubes!). A great read ⬇️

This is reminding me that during the height of Covid, people in my building were apparently trying to avoid touching elevator buttons any way they could. Managment finally put up a sign saying they had installed “self-cleaning” buttons and people should stop pressing with their feet😳!!
