Sorry, Bluesky, I was out for a while. It turns out our little girl, Sophie, held on a little longer. She wasn’t in pain, so we kept her at home with us until she left us this past Wednesday afternoon. I’m heartbroken, but glad we made that decision.

I’m watching “Origin” now and I’m at the part where she’s in Berlin at the memorial where the book burning took place. I have been there and stood where she stood. That memorial is powerful.

We aren’t either. I wouldn’t get on a plane if you paid me right now. No disrespect to any pilots or airline personnel, but the safety personnel are just seriously understaffed and can’t hire anyone. I doubt they would recommend flying as highly as before, to be honest.

Well said! I try to convey this to white friends when I encourage them to “step outside of whiteness” and see how things really look. It’s a hard transition to make, because we’ll be confronted with our pasts, but I hold on to this and tell others to do the same.

I have contacted all our elected officials (all GOP, unfortunately). I made it clear they are not to forget whom they work for. They do not work for 47, no matter how much he would like to think that, and they had better start acting like it.

What a year these two weeks have been. 😢
