#Watched A Day in the Life of Willie Faust, or Death on the Installment Plan (1972) - Fanaka’s UCLA film school experimental short is hard to find bc of the music - so much Sanders/Mayfield/Hayes/Beatles - but worth digging up, you can already see his fascination with blaxploitation and showmanship.

I would love to do a podcast with you on this topic.

HFS. Flashcards work! What a concept! One of the hardest part of early Korean for me is the two number systems. Don’t ask, it’ll do your head in. BUT I just remembered 1-10 in Korean! Big step for meeeeee!

I’m happy to report that some of my flashcards work is returning and my reading/reading comprehension has improved. But this is still very scary and hard, NGL.

Starting again at the beginning is tough in so many ways. I understand a lot when I hear it and read it but doing all of it at once is just WOW. Vowel and consonant stuff just throw me. These “tiny” things? 😭 make me have so much more respect for my baby students who speak such amazing English 🥰

So that's a nail in the coffin for feudalism. Let's do capitalism next.
