Beyond power games, I have no idea why people trust US intelligence sight unseen, because they've had so many fuck ups and false pretences they've operated under

Crisis averted by rebooting. It could have been hell fixing it, as it's kernel level to reliably get hardware temps and fan speed

Uniget screwed up a driver install, and now my fans are running noisily.
Who packaged PawnIO so ineptly, and why does the repo have no documentation on install errors

Worked out a really good way to pre-filter some data, skipping thousands of files. Bonus that I can now do kql queries from powershell instead of having to click around the awful portal

Original plan was to convert an image to a naive MS Paint like trace, but tiling shapes are a lot easier to get working.
I'm very happy with how Mondrian-esque the BSP one looks

Playing around with making an image to shape converter toy. (original image of Miku is from a loading screen in like Project Sekai, as it's good for edge and flat colour detection)

β€˜A gift that falls from the sky’: why farmers are using Etna’s ash as fertiliser Falling volcanic ash has for years been viewed as a nuisance. But a Sicilian project has discovered its agricultural potential and wants to spread the word

I thought it was widely known that volcanic soils are good for certain types of crop growth, and presumably this would extend to some ash. Is this like a European debuff or something?

Most Javascript's obfuscated, not just for security or perf reasons, but as part of standard builds. There's no reason to have var names in prod, it's not an immediate sign of malfeasance. The file name's a real indicator. The analysis is <15m of work, there's so little substance

Lobstar Wilde seems pretty close, and so does that Ouroboros agent.
It's not great, but it shows how far LLMs have come.
I've always seen this as possible, but it still feels like a sci-fi story or an awful hacker/AI plot from a crime show

It's not AGI, but we're a step away from AI agents that survive, given that people create memecoins to fund particular agents.
The components are there, it just needs to ensure inference costs don't blow out and it can restore itself to a previous "version" if it starts failing

Snipping tool claims Win + Shift + T is the shortcut for text extraction, it's still not working for me.
So I created a 2 step macro in Vial. Can't make it 1 step because Snipping tool's launch time is highly variable

It's just full of undocumented random shit other people clearly vibecoded and added on top. The installer even ignores you telling it not to enable certain services!
The web server settings are a nightmare of divs with border styling that is parsing a JSON file poorly

OpenClaw sucks shit, and is clearly made by webdevs with no consideration for resource usage or perf, 8k tokens straight off the bat!
Configuring additional models is hell, especially if they aren't mainstream. I have no fucking idea why you would make an "automation" tool so difficult to extend

Lmao this bot has no context. Also the prompt engineering subreddit is full of repetitive llm posts and most people don't even question it

"The lab leak theory is real because a panel of Republicans decided it is"
That's not how evidence works, like at all. These same people will say that things are too political these days, but just agree with an obviously partisan outcome

Thought about it recently because family convos keep tending towards nimbyism. No one else is really using it, so I asked this guy lol

@davidsligar.bsky.social Extremely random question, but did you come up with the "High shittism" bit, or was it some other Aus twitter person?

Sabra and Shatila massacre - Wikipedia

Then I found that in 1982 the IDF helped Lebanese Phalangist militias get false revenge against Palestinians + Shias, killing thousands.
The real perpetrators who killed the Lebanese president were Syrian Nazis! This kind of thing makes you feel insane buff.ly/iEjp6q6

Sabra (character) - Wikipedia

Saw a funny video about bad Marvel characters like Sabra, a Mossad Zionist trying to get vengeance against Palestinians. A toned down version was in the latest Captain America movie (why!) buff.ly/GCKPVZ5

Yeah limitations can be great for creativity, but to me it felt like they just cut a whole lot out of the game due to resource/skill constraints

Americans need to stop talking about recycling as if it doesn't happen just because their local government doesn't handle it

In what universe is WH40K: Fire Warrior one of the PS2's better shooters?
Very funny though to call out "there's too many military vs. terrorist games" in 2004

Like I get it, writing dialogue is very cheap compared to carving new paths through your game world, but don't try to tell me it somehow makes the game non-linear when the story beats are always the same!

Five Years On, Firewatch's Designer Says Its Choices Were So Subtle Everyone Thought It Was A Linear Game? Everyone had a different experience with Firewatch, but nobody realised.

I still get disappointed about Firewatch sometimes. The director even spun unnoticed dialogue choices as meaningful narrative differences! That's worse than the ME3 problem of "did you choose the blue, green, or red ending?"

Just read a bunch of spoilers that showed I clearly didn't play enough Nier: Automata and I just imagined where the post-game stuff went.
I'm mad I didn't just close the page on the first new line of info and commit to playing it again
