People here in SC remember his HS football playing years in addition to Operation PUSH & Presidential runs. Right now, I hear my husband downstairs now telling his Jesse stories to the lady who helps with my brother’s care. We must continue to tell the stories.

As you read the great pieces on our ancestor Jesse L Jackson, remember that he was the incantation of hope in my head. The “I am somebody” was not a PR trick. Our ancestor was sweating and strategizing in small towns and big cities. He seeded dreams of “maybe” and “why not.”

That’s more than a glimmer, Doc! Those add up to a joy starfest!

I am glad they can move forward with the lawsuits. Hopefully hopefully hopefully justice will prevail. Even in toxic 2026.

Today, Feb 5, is the birthday of Trayvon Martin. He died at 17, shot and killed in Sanford, FL.

Trayvon was polite, caring & shy. An extension of his introversion, he wore a hoodie everywhere, no matter the weather. He loved football, video games, & listening to music, but his passion was aviation.

Yesterday, five-year-old Liam and his dad Adrian were released from Dilley detention center. I picked them up last night and escorted them back to Minnesota this morning.

Liam is now home. With his hat and his backpack.

Camera/photo question: I’m an ordinary older person who takes average photos with my average iPhone 16 ProMax. I recently discovered an old Sony Cyber-Shot DSCS 750. Is there any reason for me to keep & use this camera? Anything creative I can do with the Sony that I can’t do w/my iPhone?
