Similar to Chat-GPT, Spotify marginalises already marginalised voices while pretending to offer choice
05.12.2024 09:39 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Hereβs my ethical dilemma for you today.
Up till a month ago, millions of people justified their continued use of Twitter by saying there wasnβt an alternative.
Right now, a handful of my friends are justifying their continued use of Spotify by saying there isnβt an alternative.
Really?
I do find it weird the way people seem to be so passionate about defending Spotify though, whether they themselves behave ethically (in terms of buying music) or not.

So nice to see so many people unembarrassed by their support for Spotify
What other ways can you ensure musicians wonβt be paid for Christmas?

In 2024, there has been an unprecedented increase in the use of the word unprecedented

Is that enough? Loving the tumbleweed blowing through the new world order.
2/3 β¦ TikTok deliberately alienating and Instagram weirdly impenetrable. At least with FB I can say stuff and post videos, even if it is horrendously censorious. I prefer an echo chamber to unfunny hate. Whatever. Am I supposed to add hashtags now? Ok. #################
16.11.2024 21:21 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 01/3 Please follow me. Or not. Quite honestly I couldnβt care either way, as I have no idea how any of this works and canβt be arsed to find out. It doesnβt seem very straightforward. I never bothered looking at Twitter the whole time I was on it, Threads is just nonsenseβ¦
16.11.2024 21:20 β π 3 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Well done to all the people whoβve been queuing up to be seen proudly leaving Twitter in recent days.
Maybe next time you could do it *before* the election.
You donβt think that by staying on that social media platform for as long as you did, you were - in your own way - helping to enable fascism?
Iβm that old I can remember a time before Oasis represented the worst aspects of bloated, uncaring, exploitative capitalism and lad culture; and felt genuinely exciting, a new hope.
