If it was just one thing, you might be able to deal with it. But so much of your list is... yeah. Things you can't really do a lot about... which ain't helpful.

Also, congratulations everyone who made something this year. A comic, a song, a film, a novel, a painting, a poem, a short story, a sculpture, crochet, embroidery, whatever it is. In this era of slop and theft, if you *make* something you are a shining jewel and I am so grateful for you.

Yep. Whenever I get edits back and I'm the middle of something else, it's a battle to figure out what to do. With that unwelcome forced break, your decision makes a LOT of sense to me.

Writing AND moving at the same time, with a kid too? You are insanely courageous.

Time to revise the just-finished novel--a quick revision--and get started on book 2 of the series!

I've got the entire series outlined, so moving on to the next book SHOULD be fairly simple.

Tuesday night, the evening I completed the rough draft, my wife made us chocolate chip cookies which we enjoyed with cold milk. The cookies and the company were delightful indeed.

It never feels true when you need to hear it, but that doesn't make it less true:

You're not competing against others when you write. Every word you write, it's good. You have created story from ink.

Tomorrow might be a snow day, which would mean sledding with the kids.

Steph, I've seen your posts about how much you need to do and what you have survived. You have done lovely, my friend, and I'm glad that you continue to battle on. Your writing progress is GOOD.

I'm usually very self-motivated to just get writing, but it's nice having an excuse outside of myself to write. Just knowing you'd be posting, even if I'm just one more writer, hey, I know someone's gonna post, and I'm gonna respond. So... better write!
