Almost cried about seven times during the IGF awards, and was able to reconnect with some very long lost friends and old colleagues, met some really lovely new folks and folks I only knew from online. Completely in my feelings JUST when I thought I was too jaded at this point, lol

I’ve been raging about buying cosmetics alongside video games for years. “I’m just a girl! Which will I choose to use scarce resources on?” AND THEN, with dickwolves & GamerGate, I was asked to choose between being a girl & a gamer (the two genders) in so many ways. Finally I chose girl! IT SUCKED.
Being a girl is already expensive! There is an exhausting high cost! For years we’ve culturally been increasing the cost of being a man (the………. gender default?!) as well. Looking your gender is already a privilege, a luxury. Well hold onto your butts! This is Hell!
but gender norms sell cosmetics, fashion, and gender-affirming surgery and fillers and injections, so all the dudes will be on HGH (for intersex people with hyperplasia!!!!!) and all the girls will, idk, no one can afford this, capitalism has us smeared on toast
But yes it’s already a nightmare. Flat-chested makeup-free cisgender women accosted in the bathroom. Muscular girl athletes having their T levels checked. It’s so invasive. It’s so… insecure? Of others? Like it’s such a projection

Have my GDC talk writing process down for this year - recording the audio, taking live notes on iPad, writing up talks on my laptop after the fact while physically referencing notes like a little notebook. Working way better than my older otter setup from yesteryear lol
