Youβd think in that case Farage would be able to relate to them. He lives from hand-outs too doesnβt he?

Well remember watching TOTP
In the 70s with my best mate and saying I really like Blondie and him saying βNo you donβt. You like Debbie Harryβ. He wasnβt wrong.
I can sympathise with China not wanting to engage with the US or British administrations in recent years to be fair!
12.02.2026 09:56 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I think Burnham is right but he needs to be wary that football fans are very results driven. Currently Man U are doing well so many fans will be protective of their owner even if most of them know Radcliffe is a massive hypocrite being a tax exile in Monaco.
12.02.2026 09:54 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Iβd have expected them to blame a rogue Reform activist. Blaming the printer is a pathetic defence that isnβt obviously a defence.
08.02.2026 12:47 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I used to know a chap. Rather a savant who used to revel in this game or variation (who is the biggest genius). Heβd always throw in Hitler just to stir things up not because he necessarily believed it.

08.02.2026 12:41 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0It really isnβt you know. Itβs about people. Current Senators, Congress members, staffers, lawyers, judges - POTUS! (Do YOU believe they will come down on the side of democracy and decency? I donβt). The mechanisms exist it just needs key people to decide to use them.

06.02.2026 10:54 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0One of the problems for Starmer is so many documents were splurged out into the wild the salacious ones among the deeply mundane necessarily only appear every few days now. It's like some kind of water torture. That doesn't make it worse but keeps the story alive.

Yes but, but. Hear me out in this. Have they found the last person who queried your spelling yet?!
PS We set up a local quiz and commissioned the trophy engraved βGeneral Knowlegde Quizβ.Only found out when we handed trophy to winners!

02.02.2026 20:09 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Hopefully if the chamber was abolished the title wouldn;t open the doors it does now
02.02.2026 17:34 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0I think they deserve criticism for not reforming the chamber but nothing in the thread suggests dissolving the Lords would remove peerages too. That would also need an act or at least be a part of the dissolving act.

02.02.2026 16:15 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Or more to the point we do βseemβ to be seeing more behaviour from peers that normal folk think should lead to stripping of peerage. Rather than βwastingβ time on debating whether or not Mandelson should be de-peered pass legislation so it doesnβt require valuable parliamentary time.
02.02.2026 16:01 β π 5 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Well hang on. Reform DO run multiple councils. But only recently. It may be my bubble but I'm not hearing many great stories of their successes. Unless they extract digits those successes won't be repeated!
02.02.2026 12:56 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0It's indicative of a deeper sickness at the heart of our establishments. Much of Mandelson's behaviour was known or suspected but clearly a lot of people weren't (aren't?) bothered by it. It's almost as if it was/is expected to behave like that.
02.02.2026 12:40 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0actionable for fraud is not clear of course. (But I do agree government should be interested in it and find out whether or not that data has value we're missing or ignoring but we do need to be aware of the risks and we onlt need to see what ICE are doing to get a taster for the risks.

department responsible for fraud so I'm confused why they complain about this unless of course they want mission creep into Home Office areas of responsibilities (immigration Vs fraud).
I also don't see them claim they have "tons of data" either. I'm sure they have TB worth but how much of it is
I have 2 thoughts on this. Firstly it's not surprising commercial companies complain they feel government departments aren't interested in their data they think would help increase their commercial opportunities if they were. Secondly as far as I know the Home Office aren't the right government
