Just got the Bluesky experience of "a bunch of weird drive-by replies from people who don't follow you" for the first time ever and they're not even particularly malicious but like… why is this a thing?? Why can't you hide posts from algorithmic feeds??? Has anyone here ever used social media????

If you can leave facebook, instagram, and threads that's great, but a lot of non-profits and indie creators have no choice but to stay for promotion and fundraising. Just try to remember that when making grand declarations of disgust and condemnation aimed at everyone who keeps using meta. 🧵

Bluesky is great but simply does not have the same reach and networking potential yet. If you're in a position where (for example) the wellbeing of a bunch of rescue animals depends on your ability to fundraise through social media you don't get to have the luxury of quitting Zuckerberg.

I will say the new Gladiators movie was a disappointment overall, enjoyable visuals and fight scenes here and there. The storyline and pacing was miserable and all over the place. Felt like it could’ve been slowed down more to bring more engaging story telling. 3.5/5

Gonna try and start watching more classic movies or recent releases. Stopped playing video games last year so this will be my new vice and will try and record this journey through letterboxd.
