A tiny fungus with a long thin, wiry red stem is growing on the skeleton of a dead Holly leaf... its off white cap is seen from underneath showing off its gills and the projecting hairs on the top.

Oyster mushrooms are one of my favorites, they're pretty, can deliciously smell floral, and after looking down throughout the season, in the fall you look up more for these gems often growing on standing dead wood.

Bold common rust gill mushrooms, Gymnopilus penetrans, can appear all the way from August to January in Temperate Europe.

Small group of sturdy mushrooms with wavy plum-red scaled yellow caps next to a rotting tree stump. They are surrounded by moss, leaves and grass. On the ground in front of the stems is a dense spiderweb with a funnel-shaped hole. The web is very loosely attached to the mushrooms. It's not obvious at first glance, but there is a rather large dark spider, most likely a funnel weaver, hiding close to the tree stump.

Lovely fungus with the very fitting name Plums and Custard (Tricholomopsis rutilans). Can you spot the spiderweb's creator? (Found in Styria, Austria)

Surprised to find a newly emerged Wrinked Peach on a fallen elm in Southey Wood, with a congregation of Jelly Ears decorating a nearby trunk. Two Common Rustgill under a Scots Pine and some aniseed-scented Fragrant Funnels were added bonuses.
