Narratives against DIY routinely fail to acknowledge that the trans community is a community that on a fundamental level *needs* access to materials such as medicines for transition, and restricting these severely is going to drive criminalisation of the trans community as a minority altogether.

I saw this and at first thought "no, there's no way 'we definitely had alternative leadership in mind for Iran but I blew them up alongside the schoolgirls using AI' is what the White House is actually saying, that's too clueless and evil to be real"

Kansas has, overnight, invalidated the drivers’ licenses of trans people, a pointless cruelty that upends their lives

If Brits think β€œit won’t happen here” think again! Groups in the U.K. who want the same thing are routinely invited to consult with Labour and normalised in our press!

Red Lines: Why we need Red Lines (Aurelien Mondon) - Reactionary Politics Research Network This article by Aurelien Mondon discusses the need for red lines in the struggle against reactionary politics.

'For too long, the threat of the far right and reactionary politics has been externalised and exceptionalised. It is time to accept that the current system can indeed accommodate the far right if its survival is threatened by other crises'

This is why we need Red Lines

anti-abortion groups don't see abortion as a single-issue - they are simultaneously funding & driving anti-trans, anti-LGBTQI, anti-migrant [...] efforts in the UK and transnationally. it isn't just 'what happens in the US', it's also what they've funded in Uganda, Hungary, Mexico, Poland [...] 1/

Help us appeal the High Court’s judgment on trans rights | Good Law Project

Hi everyone. As you know, I am our trans rights lead at Good Law Project. I have been working alongside a fantastic team on our challenge since May last year. But whilst what we have achieved is significant - there is still a lot further to go.

If you can, please donate and help us keep fighting.

We're also getting questions about what the decision means for service providers whose toilets are also used by employees. The High Court doesn't deal with this - and frankly the law is a terrible mess - but the safest (and frankly the most efficient) thing to do is make all toilets unisex.

13.02.2026 13:25 β€” πŸ‘ 174    πŸ” 33    πŸ’¬ 7    πŸ“Œ 1

An important takeaway – the High Court has made clear that the Code of Practice has gotten the law wrong. It will need to be rejected by the Minister.

At the time she nodded along, along with acknowledging our concerns about pro conversion therapy groups lobbying the Cass review process, told us not to believe what the right wing press was saying about things she'd briefed in private.

Then the end result was what it was. Deeply deceptive.

We (trans safety network) met with Cass during her research on the Cass review and explained how clearly ridiculous it would be to try and bring haircuts and self expression under the authority of being a "medical intervention".

She went away from that meeting and produced this crap anyway.

NHS closed Tavistock over care complaints – there were only eight An eye-opening FOI report has revealed that just eight people complained about the Tavistock gender clinic's care provision in 10 years.

In a functional country, this would be a scandal. A service suffering only from chronic underfunding was ripped apart because the media created a myth of 1000s of complaints of malpractice. The truth - as in my family’s experience - was very different.

I read through hundreds of emails and scoured through years of correspondence and background information to write this 4600 word report.

It confirms what we all have been saying about the anti-trans movement from the start. Read it from the top down, I can't even begin to summarize it all properly.

Gf had an appt a while back about a chronic shoulder injury and the GP had printed out her (extremely long) report and diagnosis from the gender clinic and left it prominently on the desk. Not sure if trans broken arm syndrome or whether GP just thought they needed a manual to talk to a trans person

Misoprostol is used in many aspects of OBGYN care (abortion, miscarriage management, cervical prep) and to treat ulcers. Methotrexate is used to treat ectopic pregnancies and in the management of autoimmune disorders like lupus, rheumatoid arthritis, and psoriasis.

The non-binary person is iconic obviously, but my favourite is the person marking their gender on a calendar like it's their menstrual cycle.

On a serious note though, is it just us or do these images confuse more than they explain? Being genderfluid has nothing to do with a calendar, for example!

An example of an easy read document on gender, with three panels.

The first panel has a picture of a person with a thought bubble containing a stick figure of a woman, a stick figure of a man and a question mark. The text reads 'Being LGBTQ+ I'd not just about who you are attracted to. It is also about how you feel about your gender.'

The second panel has a picture of a person giving a thumbs up. Behind them is a circle containing a stick figure of a man, a stick figure of a woman and a black X. The text reads 'You may feel that you have no gender, that you are not a man or a woman. This is called non binary.'

The third label has a person next to an image of a calendar. Two days of the calendar are marked in red. One points to a stick figure of a woman and another to a stick figure of a man. The text reads 'A person who feels like they are more a man one day and more a woman a different day is called gender fluid.'

My partner (who works in mental health) is on a kick about how bad the images in 'easy read' versions of documents often are, and sent me the following example (ironically from a guide to how to produce easy read documents):
