I've had the "I want that game but I won't buy a console for one game" at least 10 times with the same person about the same console. I didn't point it out because I always try to short circuit that whole thing.

The fun thing about this exercise is 20 repeats of a cutscene could be 40 inputs, or it could be multiple hours and several hundred or thousand inputs.

That's why the standard pause button followed by skip button is so nice.

If you're a game dev, challenge yourself to replay the longest cutscene/dialog section in your game 20 times in one sitting.

If you hate it/yourself afterwards, you need to improve your text skipping features.

30 is honestly under-exaggerating. I tried streaming genshin casually and there were at least 50 dialog boxes per cutscene and this quest was just a series of 5+ cutscenes you have to walk between with no gameplay. Reminded me of why I never stream it.

Genshin Impact and most gacha games would instantly be 2x the game it is with real text skipping and a skip cutscene button.

I don't get why every gachapon game without fail uses 30 dialog boxes to say "Hi my name is bob. There's a boss monster over there, it's bad."
