(It used to be that I got sick on my odd-numbered cruises and not on the evens; no longer. I blame my trip to WorldCon last August where I didn't get sick.)

I don't know the last time, but the first time was during *church* of all places.

No, I cannot remember why they projected this music video for every teen to see. Was it part of the sermon in an attempt to appeal to the youths? Or did someone just think it was fun?

Or we can just get a sequel to the Pine et al. movie. I enjoyed that one, despite not knowing what tieflings were at the time, and therefore being very confused when I got into BG3.

(I recognize there are many campaigns where she died. But hey, I can compromise. I can also compromise that the evil!Durge ending didn't happen)

I might also allow a series where adult!Arabella goes on some season-long quest with a completely new adventuring group, and along the way she escapes death courtesy of Bone Man (i.e., keep cameos to an Absolute minimum)

Just make a series set in the Forgotten Realms. I'll allow one reference to that time a bunch of Baldurians spontaneously transformed into mind flayers, and one easter egg insult of Wulbren Bongle.

(Also, I realize this series has been pitched as a continuation of the BG3 plot, not an adaptation of the BG3 plot, but someone who isn't me is still choosing not just which ending happened, but what character development happened along the way.)

Do I derive enjoyment from watching (some) people play BG3 for the first time, part of which requires comparing their choices to mine? Yes, actually, but this doesn't feel at all like sitting through some version of the story Hasbro/etc. has decided is "official" and made for a much wider audience.

Even ignoring potential issues of quality, I don't think any game where player choice is so integral to the experience should be adapted into a medium where you are a completely passive observer of someone else's headcanon.

The university had to put their SciComm MSc *somewhere*, and they chose the College of Medicine & Veterinary Medicine instead of the College of Science & Engineering.

So yes, according to a very expensive piece of paper, I am a graduate of the Edinburgh Medical School.

Every so often I get an email that reminds me I am, technically speaking, a med school graduate.

Spending my final hour of 2025 completing the year's budget spreadsheet, reviewing my retirement portfolios, and checking how much student debt I actually still have...like an adult.

Also worth noting, at least for my own memory, that I spent less time doing this entire run than I did in Act 1 (and 1.5) of BG3.

I have no idea what actually killed him, though. Just noticed the spirit version of him at one point on the nameless isle.

I hope this means he will finally stop "accidentally" setting off traps and exploding my entire party.

As much as everyone complains about the Oskar Fevras side quest in BG3, at least it's not trying to save Gwydian from his own stupidity...

Went to the flea market, today. Ate a mediocre cinnamon roll. Failed to find coasters for my sister-in-law (whoops now the whole internet knows who my secret santa assignment is). Smelled an Hermes handbag that was going for $180. Waved back to a stranger in a Grinch costume. Did not pet the pugs.

Okay technically I'm procrastinating on my Honor Mode run and having "finished" Hades 2 am playing DOS2, now, but I still think of it as my BG3 machine

Looks like...$430! That's 4 times what they cost last year, and only ten bucks shy of my graphics card (which is also now double what i paid for it...)

My BG3 machine had better not break anytime soon.

Very upset that tonight's shower did not feature any moments of inspiration for the contents of my new screenplay (This is not a subtle hint for my brain to start having them, because is it almost midnight please let me sleep)

My brain did eventually think about more important things, for at least a little while...but not until like 11pm, which is not exactly kind of me.

This year's NaScWriMo is off to a great start, by which I mean 90-odd minutes looking at baby names instead of hashing out the central theme, overall plot, or major character arcs of the premise that popped into my head earlier this week.

To end on a positive note, I was very proud of myself for beating the Vow of Rivals Typhon fight not just on my first try...but also without Night Bloom*.

Also, I liked the surprise that happens in phase 3!

(It was also *massively* frustrating getting the scene with the Fates to trigger, due to RNG. I think it took me 4 runs? 5?Maybe that's just a skill issue, but I was going into the epilogue in a not particularly great mood, and Clotho did nothing to remedy that.)

Another week of Hades 2 managed to dull my reaction to the narrative path the writers chose...but then I triggered the proper epilogue scenes with the Fates and Hecate.

I just don't think the story came together in the end, like, at all. It's a big letdown for an otherwise great gaming experience.
