it's some actively hiding it! Or going as far as trying to cover up their use of gen AI in their 'art'. It's just exhausting.

It's not even just fics, it's also drawings and VP, renders, etc. I hate that I look at so many things with suspicion, that I have to question my own eye, my understanding of things.
And yeah.. people not disclosing it is becoming more and more common. And it's not even people not disclosing it,

As someone who also had her writing on AO3 scraped, I feel that sting as well. It's just.. I don't know. AI just makes everything so hollow. And as the tools are getting better, I constantly worry how much stuff generated by AI I encounter on the daily basis, but especially in fandoms.

the slow, but steady permeation of ai use in the fandom spaces is genuinely so so harrowing to witness. especially considering that art born from passion is at the core of what a fandom even is! if this a coming trend, then the future of fandoms is truly bleak.
