this is wild: among forwards with an above-average rate of primary points/60 at 5v5, here are Parker Kelly's closest comps by goals/60 and zone entries/60 (Martin Necas, Matt Boldy, Sam Bennett, Seth Jarvis, and Travis Konecny)

Anyway, I do want to highlight the Severson goal from last night because it seems like whenever CBJ scores a 5v5 goal with Charlie Coyle on the ice, they do it because Coyle wins a puck battle (or two). Just watch him (#3) completely over-match Nick Schmaltz (#8) twice on this goal

CBJ is 13-2-2 since Bowness took over, which is great. They also had the second-easiest schedule in that span by opponent points% and Merzlikins was 29/40 goalies by 5v5 goals against above expected/60 (Greaves was 8/40). From here on out, they have the second-hardest schedule by opponent points%.

Bowness' insistence on giving Merzlikins the bulk of the starts is the dumbest thing we've seen a coach do this season and that is no small feat considering what San Jose did with Klingberg and their top PP unit. It could easily, single-handedly cost Columbus a playoff spot.
