We stand in unequivocal opposition to ICE, the occupation of our communities, and all forms of state-sanctioned violence.
You donβt have to be personally impacted to know this must end. You only have to care about your neighbors.
Independent abortion clinics have long worked to keep patients, staff, and volunteers safe. Today, many clinics are making it clear: ICE is not welcome in their spaces.
29.01.2026 16:38 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0State-sanctioned violence against Black and brown people, immigrants, trans people, and pregnant people is not new. What we are seeing now is a terrifying escalation.
29.01.2026 16:38 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Our communities deserve care, not violence. ACN stands in opposition to ICE and the militarized occupation of our communities. The presence of ICE and militarized policing is deterring people from accessing health care, including abortion care, and threatens bodily autonomy, safety, and dignity.

Indie clinics provide the majority of the abortions in the US, but they often don't have the funding or resources they need. Being a member of Abortion Care Network gives indies access to resources they wouldn't otherwise have.

They are doing all of this while facing bans, extremist violence, legal threats, burnout, and chronic underfunding.
Communities need clinics. And clinics need support to stay open.

There's more! Independent clinics train future providers, challenge harmful laws in court, and help patients navigate long travel distances and limited options. They are the last line of defense in many regions.
6/
Reason 5: They have incredible resolve, even under attack.
Since 2022, 100 independent clinics have closed or stopped providing abortions. At the same time, at least 60 new indie clinics have opened -- because communities still need care.
5/
Reason 4: They make access practical, not just legal.
Indies partner with abortion funds and practical support organizations to help people afford care, travel safely, and navigate confusing laws.
4/
Reason 3: They offer the most comprehensive care.
Independent clinics provide the full range of abortion care, including pills, in-clinic care, and later abortion care. Access throughout pregnancy depends on indies.
3/
Reason 2: They show up where access is hardest.
Indies operate most clinics in states with the most severe restrictions. When laws are hostile and options are limited, these clinics are often the only ones still there.
2/
Reason 1: Indies provide most abortions.
Independent clinics provide the majority of abortion care nationwide. This system does not function without them.
