Then I cut the kind words, draw a silly doodle to go with them and stick the piece of paper around my desk, as a reminder.

Haven’t had to do it in some time, but it really used to help!

After spilling it all out, self-compassion ends up appearing. I see all the shit out there scribbled in wobbly letters and think: oh wow, no-one deserves that, lemme write something kind to whatever part of myself is thinking all that.

Oh I just remembered something that helps on really bad days. Whenever I’m struggling with self-kindness, I’ll get a scrap of paper and just write whatever I’m feeling that’s getting in the way of feeling that kindness. Just get it all out, unfiltered and raw.

I was there a while ago too. After years of therapy, it’s become easier (still requires a lot of effort sometimes). Can’t say for certain what exactly helped the most, but trauma-informed therapy (parts therapy, EMDR) surely made a change, as did for some friends, who are doing much better now

I’m sorry this is happening to you. Can’t say if this is normal, but it’s certainly frequent. From my experience, it seems to be super frequent among queer people, and also among artists (esp non white cis straight men). You’re not alone. Glad that you’re in therapy, it gets better with time 🫂

I swear I’m not doing this on purpose, just going for the colors that fit each piece! Start far from these palettes, but then as I play with color and light always end up falling into those two very specific palettes HUH

Internet Archive and several national libraries' online archives have quite a few art nouveau books in public domain. They can be great references for fantasy artists. My favorite is this The Four Sons of Aymon illustrated by Eugène Grasset: gallica.bnf.fr/ark:/12148/b...

Delshed is court-martialled, stripped of his rank and condemned to forced labor.
