Sometimes, after I closed the news, I rewatch the "Where the hell is matt" clips.

They remind me that no matter where we are from, we are human. And with that we have the capacity to be brilliant.

I realised during the Heresy reading that I love how Dan Abnett writes people, but he completely fails at making battles even remotely interesting. Granted, my standards as a fan of David Gemmell are high in this area. d:

To think that this all started because a friend showed me a Demon Host in Darktide, I asked what a Demon Host is and he went:

"It's a bit complicated."

The good news? I now know what demon hosts are. The bad news? If someone asks me I can only say:

"It's a bit complicated."

Nope, just picked up the first book and started to read. :D It got messy in the order after book 4, nearly all of them are out of print and most of them aren't even available as e-book here. Had to get a bit flexible when it comes to my need to read a series in the right order.

And some lore was just hella fun to learn about, like the people on Mars who crave the strength and certainty of steel. Right next to the Noctis Labyrinth where probably one of the last living C'tan is imprisoned. XD

If you ask me what happened in specific books, I could probably not answer, it all kinda… just blends together. At some point the stories just stopped to be even remotely unique.

Some did stand out and were fun to read. I greatly enjoyed the story of the Death Guard, that was peak warp horror~!

I now know a lot more about Warhammer40k though. And that was the goal, so goal achieved. XD

There ARE some good books in the series. The series starts somewhat entertaining, Flight of the Eisenstein (book 4) REALLY pulled me in. The rest was just trying to find a book that would let me relive the glory of Flight of the Eisenstein.

Which I got from The Buried Dagger, Book 54. XD Yay.

Having struggled through most of the Horus Heresy book series last year, I now divide my books into two categories:

- Better than the Horus Heresy

- Even worse than the Horus Heresy

Tibia honest, I'm just winging it, I don't know a skeleTON about skeletons, resulting in a bit of a bone-dry, bare-bone drawing. uwu

A black dragon with flame smoldering in its mouth and lines of magma burning between its scales spreads mighty wings as it emerges from the ocean. Water spirals and froths, rising at opposite edges of the panel with the massive displacement of the dragon rising. The rib supports of its wings are thick and spiked, but the flesh between is tattered and showing through at the edge of its wings. A cloud of orange billowing smoke rises behind. Lines of fiery debris launch in random directions. A spire of rock rises from the ocean as a tiny figure perches atop faces the massive beast.
