So having said all that. I have my hard no’s that I continue to block/mute where I see it crop up. However, I am not of any support to censorship as a whole when there’s no way it won’t just continue to creep out of its own defined boundaries before it begins to censor queer identities or *others

The reason this post needs to be a thread that is likely going to get skipped by so many people is because for some godawful reason we think that limiting posts to 300 characters is cute, efficient, and quirky. Fuck off man, I got to RAMBLE.

There are conversations to be had about these troubling and uncomfortable subjects. They are definitely topics of discussion that go into more nuance and can analyze how societally we operate.

But I don’t think it necessarily needs to happen on a public forum with a 300 character limit.

But to a finer point—it is absolutely not MY business to cast judgement on others. I used to do it a lot, and still do in certain capacities. But I’ve been growing and learning to keep my yap shut and—better yet—block/mute anything I don’t want to engage with.

One of my favorite songs from a band who I’m not allowed to listen to because I used their music to self harm to—BUT i get to have this ONE SONG because it’s just such a fucking bop is this one. Discussing loudly and outwardly about incest and molestation.

Because frankly, censoring even what /I/ might consider as “morally unethical” actually is more damaging to the stories I do find profound and thought provoking. It’s worth having to keep a conversation going.

Because while I would like to cheer that we aren’t going to be allowed to see underage characters sexualized—censorship has no end in sight for it.

It’s a sinkhole that will continue to grow and consume everything within its path.
