Thames Water tried to make MP pay its legal fees of up to Β£1,400 an hour Exclusive: Charlie Maynard accuses the utility of β€˜retaliation’ over his push for government to gain control of company

Thames Water tried to make MP pay its legal fees of up to Β£1,400 an hour, he asked the Court to put TW into special administration.

Blatant attempt to silence MPs.

TW paying Β£200m a year to advisers, charges customers for its failures.

Abuses will continue until execs held personally liable.

Tear it into eighths, put a hole on one corner, pass a string through the holes and tie in a loop. Hang up in the outdoor khasi. Et voilΓ‘, recycled ass wipes (however do not do this with the Daily Express or Daily Mail. Much safer to use a handful of nettles).

A pointless (expensive) exercise returning a pointless (expensive) bureaucrat.

Good riddance, although couldn’t we speed things up…please?

I have no problem with externally consulting SMEs, but they shouldn’t be embedded at the heart of government. And they shouldn’t be setting policy. That’s the job of PM/ministers, not some unelected β€˜guru’ who is a legend in his own lunchbox.

Pity we have to wait until 2028.

β€œApart from the gold reserve”

Have to agree with that!

Didn’t realise Westinghouse was British.

I spent a few years on a CCGT near where I live on C&I. Always fancied working on a nuclear plant.

Beautiful cat may I say.

The root of our evils.

Why do Prime Mimisters put so much unquestioning faith in these people?

Who are they? What are their credentials?

It’s a good job that the reactors in our Continuous At Sea Deterrent are Rolls Royce, although that can’t be said for the Trident missile (not the payload-UK).

I saw a interesting presentation a couple of years ago about SMRs from the IET. The theory of tighter manufacturing control makes sense.

Apologies for the vernacular, but fΓΌck America.

I can just see the inverse headline (Starmer piqued that US didn’t choose R-R for their SMRs!!)

I wonder if there would be any kill-switches embedded in the Westinghouse option, you know, for just in case.

Expecting a tariff increase any time now…..

With all the Oversight emails being released, is this a good point in time to ask again if we could just fast forward to the bit in the bunker (as long as there’s CCTV in there)?

My fear is that if this gets to trial, the dementia excuse will kick in and he slips away into the sunset (Argentina).
