I don't know what to believe with Google anymore. Their AUGUST update 1000000% did not complete 19 days after they said it started.

Over 100 sites I analysed ALL exhibited sudden query changes more than a month after August core update was announced.

SEO Consideration:

If Google were to use compression for a "quality" indicator it could then also use that in an aggregated fashion for % of total site -in short, if a lot of content had high compression values for a larger portion of content than the probability of the "site" being spammy goes up
