He Was a Climate Activist. One Day, the F.B.I. Came Knocking.

β€œThis door knock marks a significant escalation,” said Ronald L. Kuby, the man’s lawyer, who represents several climate activists.

β€œThe fact that they went to the wrong address of a member who has not been active suggests that they are starting an investigation. They are digging.”

Trump Administration Erases the Government’s Power to Fight Climate Change

It's not an exaggeration to say this will result in genocidal-scale death. And I don't mean in the distant, speculative future. Just the tens of thousands of pollution deaths in the relative near-term (Free link.) www.nytimes.com/2026/02/12/c...

The E.P.A. Is Barreling Toward a Supreme Court Climate Showdown

Lisa Friedman, NYT on Feb 10 2026:
"Democrats could pass legislation that defined [GHGs] as air pollutants under the Clean Air Act ... But in the half-century since Congress passed the Clean Air Act, it has never mustered the political will to decide this question."

Would be interested in hearing the answer to this

11.02.2026 20:33 β€” πŸ‘ 27    πŸ” 5    πŸ’¬ 3    πŸ“Œ 0

Also, the endangerment finding is not even a regulation! It is a legal and scientific determination that greenhouse gases are harmful and must be regulated.

The fact that the Post editorial board describes it this way is just stupid.

11.02.2026 18:45 β€” πŸ‘ 35    πŸ” 7    πŸ’¬ 0    πŸ“Œ 0

Am I going crazy or did the Post used to list the people who actually wrote for the editorial board? I'm really wondering who wrote this and I cannot find anything that points to anyone in particular

11.02.2026 18:38 β€” πŸ‘ 7    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

I'm now realizing that the New York Times has also removed the page that lists who is on their editorial board.

What is going on??

11.02.2026 18:34 β€” πŸ‘ 17    πŸ” 3    πŸ’¬ 0    πŸ“Œ 0

Seriously, is there a list somewhere of exactly WHO is on the Post editorial board? I can only find a list of editors of the opinion section.

11.02.2026 18:30 β€” πŸ‘ 31    πŸ” 10    πŸ’¬ 4    πŸ“Œ 0

The Post editorial board is saying something extremely controversial hereβ€”that regulating climate change costs more than doing nothing about it. And it's providing absolutely no supporting evidence for that.

And we have no idea who wrote it.

11.02.2026 18:28 β€” πŸ‘ 49    πŸ” 8    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

The Washington Post editorial board claims the benefits of reducing climate pollution are "modest"

Who wrote this, exactly?

11.02.2026 18:18 β€” πŸ‘ 126    πŸ” 51    πŸ’¬ 15    πŸ“Œ 8

In case anyone's wondering how Jeff Bezos feels about climate policy these days, the Washington Post editorial board just heartily endorsed Trump ripping up the EPA's "endangerment finding," which allows the federal government to regulate greenhouse gases as pollutants.

"Sure, Lee Oldham told me, he had spread radioactive fracking waste on Texas farmland. But in his defense, he never in a million years thought anyone would put a school there."

The oil industry's radioactive secret is getting more attention but the damage has been done.

But "a federal agency has deleted a chapter on climate science from a reference manual for judges after complaints from 27 Republican state attorneys general."

Actually, I do know how to do this In retrospect, paying attention to polluters may be one of the best ways to understand what’s currently happening in the United States.

Puerto Rico hasn't had reliable power in a decade.

The grid sends occasional surges through the wires that fry appliances.

Electricity rates are among the highest in the entire U.S.

Heat waves are getting intense in the summer, and outages mean A/C is no guarantee for an aging population.
