I hate this TL

With the postal delays, and my mental health in the gutter, dragging out my Christmas shop closure would be unfair to myself /and/ my customers. I truly think this is the best decision for both sides. Please understand.

I want to go home.

On top of managing two busy online stores, I'm working a freelance contract until Christmas.

100+ orders to process - I'm grateful for the success of my business, please don't get me wrong. It's just more than I can handle right now.

Christmas shoppers don't care. I'm in a lose/lose situation.

Christ, putting out shop update notices right now feels fucking inhuman.

In my notice, I cited professional reasons for shutting my shop early this year - but let's be real. Emotionally, I'm all over the place. Receiving frequent Shit-O-Grams from impatient customers is only making things worse.

A 4-slide notice to let my online customers know that I'm putting my online shops into Holiday Mode (making them unavailable for service) earlier than I usually would at this time of year. The text reads: "Hey, all. I'm sorry to say that I've decided to close my shops for the holidays early this year. TL;DR: parcels mailed from my area of the UK will be delayed, and I can't get any new stock printed in time. CLOSING DATES: United States, Canada, Mexico: December 10th Europe: December 15th United Kingdom: December 19th"

"To elaborate: my local post sorting facility is experiencing backlogs and delays. I usually keep my shops open until Royal Mail's recommended last postage dates, to ensure all orders arrive in time for Christmas. Over the past week, my online customers have reported that their orders are arriving 2~ days late domestically, and 3~5 days late internationally. Because of this delay, I have decided it will be better (for myself and my customers) that I shut my shop early, and dispatch all orders as early as possible."

"As for the stock issue: one of my main manufacturers is closing early this December for relocation. I'm already running low on some popular items, and with my most trusted supplier (understandably!) shutting down soon, I won't be able to get new stock prepared until the new year. I want to avoid disappointing my customers, so this has become another factor that influenced my decision."
