A brewery in Japan made a beer with raccoon poop or something like that once. I’m not sure many tried it…

The first BIG craft beer festival of 2026, Japan Brewers Cup, will be held at beautiful Osanbashi Hall, Yokohama, February 6~8. It’s one of our favorite festivals. There will be 40+ craft breweries from Japan and overseas, 200+ beers served, local food vendors, and an array of live performances.

なお、「JAPAN BREWERS CUP」の入場料は手頃で、飲食は都度払い制。気軽に楽しめる、満足度の高いイベントである。

2026年最初の大型クラフトビールイベント「JAPAN BREWERS CUP」が、2月6日〜8日に横浜・大さん橋ホールで開催される。美しいロケーションも魅力の一つで、毎回楽しみにしているフェスの一つである。国内外から40以上のクラフトブルワリーが集まり、提供されるビールは200種類以上。地元グルメの出店やライブパフォーマンスも楽しめる。ビールの品評会も行われ、来場者は受賞ビールを実際に味わうことができる！2月4日・5日には、醸造関係者や新規開業を目指す人に向けて、醸造機器や原材料の展示会「JAPAN BREWERS EXPO」も実施される。

Coedo Beer is releasing a DDH IPA, Hazy Gate, and hosting a release event at its brewery restaurant in Kawagoe 1.21~25. The brewer will be there on 1.22 (6~10pm) and there will be a special pairing menu. The restaurant serves delicious Asian-French cuisine. Never been? We highly recommend it.

Its pop-art–inspired can labels add to the appeal of the brewery. While traveling to Minamiaizu is not the easiest, if you happen to spot their beer on tap or in cans at a nearby beer bar or shop, it’s worth trying. Close your eyes, sip, and imagine the bounty of those remote mountains!

That philosophy naturally overlaps with both the terroir of Minamiaizu, which is blessed with pristine water and air, and the brewery’s approach to making beer. The taproom, Beer Fridge, is walking distance from the brewery and allows visitors to unwind in the relaxing atmosphere of the town.

Minamiaizu Mountain Brewing in Minami-aizu, Fukushima, is an unusual brewery in that it grew out of a lumber business. Because of its long history of immersion in mountain life, the brewery has been engaged in efforts to give back to its forest environment for more than a decade.

徒歩圏にはタップルーム「Beer Fridge」もあり、南会津の空気をそのまま感じられる場所となっている。ポップなアートが印象的な缶ラベルも、このブルワリーらしい魅力のひとつである。南会津まで足を運ぶのはなかなかハードルが高いが、もし近くのビアバーやショップでタップや缶を見かけたら、山の恵みを感じながら飲んでみるのも面白いだろう。

福島・南会津にある南会津マウンテンブルーイングは、もともと材木屋から生まれた珍しいブルワリーである。山と向き合いながら歩んできた背景もあって、10年以上前から森林環境に還元する取り組みを続けてきたという。その姿勢は、澄んだ水と空気に恵まれた南会津の風土と、ビールづくりにも自然と重なっている。

The natural hot spring and sauna resort ‘awa awa KOBE’ near central Kobe now has its very own taproom care of Paint Palette Brewing. There’s nothing like enjoying the moment with a cold beer after a hot soak.

We featured Kaigan Brewery in our recent Japan Beer Times (no.63), and noted that their taproom at the brewery near the beach was set to open soon.
