The segment begins with a discussion of Secretary Kennedy’s recent cancellation of $500M worth of contracts related to mRNA vaccines. You say “You can’t have a platform where such a large percentage of the population distrusts the platform as we use it for vaccines and expect it to work.” Later, you make comments that might explain why a large segment of the percentage distrusts this platform. For example, you say that the vaccine was not protective against contracting COVID and cite your own case on COVID after being vaccinated. However, you fail to cite the evidence for the clinical trials that led to the Emergency Use Authorization.

Most of the internet used to be like this. This is actually the default, it took companies enclosing the internet and adding weird, soul-killing incentives to make people behave the way they do now. In a way, there is truly nothing special about Wikipedia except that it survived longer.

@scidocmartin.bsky.social Hi Dr Jen, Just listening to your podcast on controlling nerves in public speaking. I think the idea that the audience doesn't know exactly what you had planned is a really important thing to keep in mind. It applies to virtually all endeavours which have an audience.

@scidocmartin.bsky.social . If depression causes changes in our breathing, it’s not that surprising that changing our breathing patterns can alleviate depression. A lot of these things appear to be reversible. As if our body can’t tell cause from effect. Smiling deliberately can improve our mood.
