Combine the thought experiment with a real example of the "AI" not really understanding what its doing, and I think it can be come much clearer for most people:

For me, the "Chinese Room" thought experiment really helped me talk about AI in terms of what it means to "understand" something, and its actually a really accurate representation of how LLM works, written well before LLM was a thing.

I dunno, I think a tacky trophy is a much smarter play than say, settle a lawsuit and agree to a “bias monitor” to get what you want.
