We're 27% of the #Canadian electorate, yet full #Accessibility is still an afterthought. We're an afterthought. #Canada pats itself on the back for doing the bare minimum then expects us to be grateful for that? #SocialClimateChange #NothingAboutUsWithoutUs #DisabilityJustice #HumanRights #CanPoli

When we make up more than 1/4 of the electorate, it speaks volumes that only 15 of 39 criteria are mandatory. Parking? Not necessary. Accessible parking? Ha! Buses to polling stations? If you're lucky! Accessible bathroom? À luxury! Seating for lineups? Pft! Also, platforms are highly inaccessible!

Yes, this #Election in #Canada is critical, but that should never negate the needs of some of the most vulnerable in the country. Disability is inevitable and can happen at any time. It is the only intersection that has free admission. It is the group that intersects with all other marginalization.

How are we to hold politicians to account? Are we supposed to pretend everything is hunky dory just because the party you want us to vote for isn't #PierrePoilievre? What happened to being critical of ALL parties?

Not once we're #Disabled people mentioned in campaigns and only broadly without targeted action in platforms. The words disabled and #Accessible were not mentioned once by #Conservatives or #Liberals, and the #NDP are selling out. And all of it will be talked about!

Apparently I'm talked about in spaces I've never been. Curious who thinks I'm a clout chaser 😅 I hate attention and only post to bring awareness to what #SystemicBarriers we face and yes, as a person whose #Politics are #Disabilitypolitics, I'll tear any party apart!
