So much to be angry about right now. Federal agents raiding an apartment building in the middle of the night, taking kids out with their wrists in zip ties, destroying people’s stuff. Reading this story had me shaking with rage. chicago.suntimes.com/immigration/...

The wholesale sellers at the main Minneapolis farmers market sometimes have lychees. They also sometimes have passion fruit for cheap. Which I love!!!!

I’ve seen too many describe what Brian Kilmeade’s says with the word ‘euthanize.’ No. What he is describing is murder. He is talking about murdering many innocent people. It is another sign of how dangerous our political times are that this man is a host of show on a major tv network.

I have been taking the 10th Ave bridge on my bike commute because the dinkytown greenway bridge is closed, and I am very glad for the bike infrastructure that makes 10th Ave feel safe. But I am still looking forward to dinktown greenway bridge coming back. It’s my favorite!

I’d also like a demand around corruption. But this is an area I know less abt. I just know it’s abhorrent that Trump’s net worth has doubled in the past year to more than $5 billion (according to Forbes). Trump is using his position to enrich himself, his family, & his allies. It’s unAmerican.

2. No federal military in cities unless the governor of the state has requested it.

3. Fire RFK Jr. (for lying about public health, science, and making Americans less healthy.

Honestly… those are probably the three I’d start with.

So, what does fighting look like? I think the idea of winning a shutdown is maybe the best we’ve got right now. And these are the handful of demands I’d start with.

1. No federal law enforcement officials can wear masks while on duty.

This is scary and dangerous. That the president would say (or even imply) that the federal government is going to war against and American city.

Oh Minneapolis… my heart breaks for the victims and families who lost children, for those injured and their loved ones, and for our shattered community. We all deserve so much better than living with this violence in our lives and communities.

A letter from a mail carrier to a little girl thanking her for writing so many letters to deliver. And including drawings of two dogs - Kennedy and Nixon - and a little girl.

Not the same mail carrier, but since we could all use some more reminders of the many good people making our communities special, here is the letter. Written in May 2020… when sending letters (with lots of stickers) had been a main activity of my 3-year-old for several months.

Hmmm… I don’t think of him as particularly tall. I’m looking for a pic of the very sweet note he wrote to my daughter to see the handwriting.

Is your mail carrier named Dominic? I’m curious because we had Dominic for awhile, during the early parts of Covid, and he was the BEST!
