I did classics at the Australian equivalent of A level. We didn't get anything as fabulous as this podcast in our studies. If you have the slightest interest in why we talk about things like Pandora's Box, give it listen. You will learn a lot !

By turns hilarious, poignant, inspring and staggeringly informative, the @alexpodyssey.bsky.social is a crowning podcast, and this episode is the jewel. I could literally feel myself getting cleverer as I listened. It is also the only podcast to reference the great Trap Door cartoon. Oh Globbits!

Thanks, Willem. I promise to try and make it better, if I identify why it happens in some cases. I know that occasionally some carriers compress audio in a way that tries to "boost" it and that can have quirky results. I would be fascinated to know if other platforms are different. A x

Went to ENO’s Cosi Fan Tutti at Bridgewater Hall. Seemed rather apt given the new @alexpodyssey.bsky.social episode on Pandora, & discussing all the misogyny that telling that story entails.

I made a decision to ignore things which used a Pandora moon as a location - a lot of films - and also films that don't really offer an understanding of the myth, but sort of pillage it. A x
