Along the way, there will always be obstacles, and Ruby has to face her fears: losing friends, something unbearable, and not being strong enough, doubting her techniques. Ruby fears involving her friends in trouble and them getting hurt. The loss of color in her hair reinforces the weight she carries; Ruby's doubts aren't a change for no reason. Basically, she carries the weight of everything.

As I said, Ruby has to face some realities, like the fact that not everything can be solved with just a smile.

Not a bad idea, maybe something to draw her in one day! However, knowing Juniper, she wouldn't commit to consistently braiding her hair. She'll most definitely go back to just tying it into her typical pig tails.
