At the lunar new year last year a small group of us in Yamagata celebrated by visiting Mt. Yudono led by a yamabushi. Photos from last year when there was comparatively much less snow, about a third from normal years. This year there’s apparently much more! @awaywithwords.bsky.social

Personally, I train under 13th generation Master Hoshino from Daishobo pilgrim’s lodge on Mt. Haguro, and with Dewa Sanzan Jinja who are the only predominantly Shinto yamabushi in Japan.
