I wrote this song on Saturday, recorded it yesterday and released it to you today in response to the state terror being visited on the city of Minneapolis. It’s dedicated to the people of Minneapolis, our innocent immigrant neighbors and in memory of Alex Pretti and Renee Good.

I hadn't read the whole thing before, so missed the paragraph that begins:

Which is worth reading in it's entirety.

Through his life and extraordinary talent, the immigrant and refugee child Tomáš Sträussler who became known to us all as Tom Stoppard made British theatre and this country a better place to be.

You might even argue that he helped redefine Englishness through his astonishing legacy of work.

More than 20 Metropolitan Police officers broke down the front door of a Quaker meeting house to arrest six women who had met to discuss climate change and Gaza. It is thought to be the first time in the history of the famously ­pacifist Quakers that police have forced their way into one of their places of worship. I know the right wing media finds it all very difficult so, in an attempt to be helpful, this is what an actual interference with free speech looks like.

I've found more of interest here in 24 hours, than I had there in the last 2 years.

I stopped using Twitter because it stopped being interesting for me. I stopped seeing the information from people I'd followed, and subjects I was interested in. So I stopped using it, unless I had a link to a specific post.
