Again today CDC scientists showed mettle and expertise, in the face of a chaotic meeting filled with anecdotes, selected basic science studies and false claims. Many of the criticisms of the Covid response are valid, many are BS, but CDC folks are trying to protect the public health daily.

The wording of this resolution is convoluted and confusing that most of us have no idea what this means in practice.

As Dr. Monarez made clear from her testimony, these votes were essentially pre-determined by RFK Jr and his careful selection of like-minded supporters to staff ACIP. He asked her to guarantee in advance she would approve the votes, no matter the science.

Every day someone dies of a heart attack after having a cup of coffee. That is not causality. Studying vaccine safety requires understanding of the systems: VAERS, VSD and CISA, the kinds of studies that can really link cause and effect. Politically motivated amateurs will spread misinformation.

I have seen one child die of SSE in my career. It was truly devastating to watch and unspeakably hard for the parents. And worse, if we have rates of measles vaccination SSPE would never happen.
