Another #IDWeek is over. A great gathering of scientists, clinicians, epidemiologists, advocates and students. @idweek.bsky.social. From Xavier Munoz's opening to the closing symposium with Drs. Marrazzo, Frieden, and Osterholm it was a call to preserve science to actually make America healthy.

This should really increase access to baloxavir. Oseltamivir is even cheaper at an average of about $25 on GoodRx but cheaper some places. We dramatically under treat flu in high risk and hospitalized patients.

My experience was like Dr. Tatanji's. I had a reasonable following and posted about vaccines, Covid, and air quality. After the algorithms changed in the Musk era, I was trolled in a way that rarely happened before. The excellent discussions and postings on #IDTwitter seemed to dry up as well.

The dust has not settled yet, see also reporting by @lenasun.bsky.social However, this action against key parts of CDC is dangerous, vengeful, and heedless of the risk to the health of all of us. The incompetence is equally staggering.
