Yeah I would basically love to see all elven nations be independent states atp. I'd drop ALL "neutral" races from that status and just make them allied to themselves and use a freelancer rep system for players.

Reframe DK and DH to be independents with temp visas basically while we're at it.

But what I'd do is seriously limit both factions down to like 2-3 races actually living in the capitals. Everyone else being varying levels of allied nation-state. And player characters just being completely freelance.

100% agreed. The original sin of taking WC3's rivalling nation-states and paring it down to two factions, imo.

What I really want is for all the playable races we now have to be re-framed as WC3 style independents, really. The Alliance and Horde should still exist as major drivers.

And recently, Vol'jin PERSONALLY sailed to Stormwind to beg the Alliance to help him wipe out the Zandalari-Amani alliance. NEITHER faction has a valid claim to enlisting the Amani.

Reconciliation? Absolutely. Inroads to cooperation? Sure!

I've seen commentary like "They shouldn't join the Alliance, they have a guy named Trollbane!" but like - that is EXACTLY why they shouldn't join the Horde either lmao. High Elves recruited humanity into the troll wars in the first place! The Trollbanes exist because of THEM.

I think about the Amani in particular because they're a group who have been so deeply wronged for literal thousands of years. Intermittent ethnic cleansing from ancestral lands by people who are so long lived, your great great great grandparent's killer also killed your brother.

Yeah, world flattening is my angle on this 100%. I would go as far as to say some classic faction races should move to independence, narratively.

I feel the game would portray the factions so much better if they decentralized that narrative a bit. Let individuals be free lances who can pick.

I really wish this game would stop framing races as needing to belong to a faction, and when they don't they get called "neutral" with this weird meta gameplay divide among their players. What I want are independent races who can banner for whomever.

But what I want is never happening, so. Oh well.

Not a popular take but I am pretty firmly convicted on it: Amani should not join the Horde. Shouldn't join the Alliance either. They should remain independent and reconcile with the blood elves as best they can.

I also think they should be playable.

How many expansions had that same sort of cool side race we all wanted to play, but never got? Amani, Arakkoa, Saurok, Naga, Mok'nathal, Ankoan, Hozen?

But we got Haranir. Who, so close to nelf and troll, just feel like they take from both instead of adding their own thing. Damn, man.

part of what makes Eversong Woods as a location so good, aside from visuals, vibes and nostalgia, is that it's a relatively flat zone. I think I'm still traumatized by Dragonflight which had some vertical monstrosities such as Thaldraszus and Waking Shores and a bit of TWW as well

We waited years for Blizzard to add more customisation for the night elves-- they didn't.

So, we have to pretend with the haranir, who somehow have more options than half of the OG races.

Yeah I have CC showing on enemy mobs. The setting to show CC in the dropdown for mob nameplates isn't on the player nameplates, and player nameplates do not show my personal CC or friendly CC.

So wait. I'm actually not allowed to see my CC on enemy players? Is that the intended blizz nameplate behavior?

I really, really miss being able to see important enemy buffs and debuffs, man. Jeeze.

Still kinda sad I didn't play many alts in Legion because of all the free honor levels you got if you had 10 alts with honor level 10 vs one main at honor level 15 for the same effort.
