I don't do it a lot, only if he gets like really which has only happened once since when we were trying out different foods to see which would fit him...he had an accident. So poor boy needed to be bathed. But story aside, definitely keeping calm (which they feed off emotions) and being patient -

But definitely releasing them if they feel like they are appearing too stressed. Luckily he's not needed to be bathed really, I've only done it twice, and he gave verbal complaints more than anything, but I did it after about a month that he came home from the shelter to get used to my hands.

Oh with grooming and general care it's good to get them used to such things, and positive affirmation and rewarding them is a good way to ease them into it. Like when I grab the brush now, he comes trotting over knowing he's going to get essentially a good all body scratching and treats at the end.

Oh those are lovely names, and her color does remind me of the actual color of Champagne. I swear she'd be the lady I say half broken French love words too. Boris's nicknames usually is Sookie, "the Child" and the Greeble when he's playful. And I'll definitely pet him for you, he's a lap claimer.

Normally was I do is coax him to lay on his side, and gently rest my calf on his side, (I do not put my weight on him) Just the presence is enough. Tough restraint breaks trust as opposed to being helpful. And I reward him with each paw he lets me do, speaking gently to him as I do it.

Even when I do his nails, ( I use a grinder as opposed to a clipper as it's less likely to injure and I can see his quicks better, and it takes way less time. Instead of Clipping/filing. I also hold him in a way that is not painful or super restrictive. He has a quick release option.

I do try my best with my lil grey man, but yeah, years, noses, eyes for eye boogies, I find for the first and latter a lukewarm cloth and treats for affirmation can help them to learn this is not something to fear, and they get rewarded if they hold still for like the minute or two it takes.
