Amidst all the chaos fostered by the U.S. administration, nothing is costing more lives than cuts to international assistance. Reforms to aid architecture are of course long overdue, but right now we need to act in solidarity with communities in need.

The only way to stop them and their war is for every one of us to refuse. This war is Netanyahu, Smotrich, and Ben Gvir’s war of choice, and it’s time to refuse to take part in it. It’s time to refuse to die in Netanyahu’s war. (1/5)

We tried to quantify the impact of abrupt PEPFAR cuts. The results startled even us A peer reviewer questioned the premise of our study into the potential impact of abruptly ending PEPFAR funding. Then it happened.

"We report that eliminating PEPFAR would lead to 601,000 HIV-related deaths and 565,000 new HIV infections in South Africa alone over 10 years. These are the projections for just one country."

Across 55 countries, >20 million people get HIV treatment via PEPFAR.

Reminder: we are being trained not to care about other people. It underlines the attacks on migrants, on DEI, on trans youth, on so-called "wokeness."

Sure there are legitimate critiques but this is not about critiques. It's about supercharging capitalism's culture of uncare.
